The Anna’s Place summer camp continues the comprehensive approach of our out-of-school-time programs and allows our D.A.W.N. students to gain their first work experiences. For seven hours a day, Monday through Friday, we combine fun and academic enrichment to prevent summer learning loss in activities such as:
- Reading enrichment
- Math enrichment
- Project based learning: active exploration of real-world challenges and problems
- Computer coding
- Healthy lifestyle education: nutrition, health, gardening
- Life skills enrichment: critical thinking, dialectal differences/code switching, conflict resolution strategies, music therapy, leadership, and teamwork
- Music Education and enrichment: Instrumental music, dance, vocal music, visual arts, opera/drama, drumming
- Swimming and physical activity
- Field trips
- Volunteer opportunities for D.A.W.N. program participants
