Astronomical Adventure to Arkansas!

Students and staff of Anna’s Place Nola embarked on an extraordinary journey to witness a celestial event of a lifetime: a solar eclipse! This field trip was more than just an escape from the routine; it was an educational adventure designed to inspire wonder and curiosity about the natural world.

As dawn broke, the excitement was palpable among the students. With protective glasses in hand and curiosity in their hearts, they boarded the bus, ready for an adventure filled with learning and exploration. The journey through the picturesque landscapes of the South set the tone for an unforgettable experience.

Upon arrival to Camp Mitchell, our group set up at a prime viewing location, equipped with cabins and educational materials provided by Anna’s. Teaching staff were on hand to explain the science behind the eclipse, the mechanics of how the moon perfectly aligns between the Earth and the sun, casting a shadow and creating the breathtaking spectacle of a total solar eclipse.

It was a trip of shared wonder, joy and reflection, an experience that connected everyone present to the vastness of the universe. But the trip wasn’t just about watching the eclipse. It was an opportunity for hands-on learning.
