Anna’s Place NOLA’s 2019 summer camp is in full force. With 49 students, 5 Jesuit High School volunteers, 2 former student volunteers, 6 STAIR volunteers, and a host of teachers and individual volunteers, we definitely have a full house. Our goal is to give kids a safe place to be during the summer and to “sneak” in some academic and social skills while having fun. A typical week includes reading, computer coding, Ultimate Frisbee, swimming, music instrument lessons, vocal music, health, gardening, cooking, finance class, journal writing, music therapy, philosophy, dance, drumming, visual arts and general music class, all pulled together by our Project Learning class theme: The Roaring Twenties. Field trips include an alligator farm, bowling, skating and an all-day picnic with swimming and games. All of this concludes with our Summer Performance on Sunday July 21st at St. Anna’s Church from noon until 1pm where the kids will show what they’ve learned in dance, music and vocal, and display their art work. Please consider joining us.
